AZAM RUGS Hi, there. We're City of Rug.
Our rug adventure, which has been going on for about 76 years, first started in 1945 in Van, Turkey, with my grandfather and father. We moved our business, which grew over time, to Istanbul in 1960. Our store in Istanbul Sultanahmet is approximately 61 years old. In that store, we have hand woven rugs that are mostly antique.

Where Heritage Meets Luxury

CULTURAL EXPRESSION

Handwoven Rugs as Living Art

Each Azam Rug is conceived as an artistic expression, shaped by the hands of master artisans rather than machines. Every knot carries rhythm, intention, and cultural memory transforming natural fibers into pieces that transcend function and enter the realm of art.

Designed to coexist with architecture, not compete with it, these rugs bring quiet presence, depth, and soul to spaces that value meaning over ornament.

Turkish Rug Motifs

Human Figure

The head ornament used by the bride in wedding ceremonies is a symbolic representation and shows her desire to marry.

Cross

It is used against evil eye to reduce the power of the evil glance by dividing it into four pieces.

Hands On Hips
